Limited use from free WordPress.com site
-
I’m testing WordPress.com for an author’s blog. My frustrations are twofold: 1. There does not seem to be a way to organize my pages the way I want them (they default to last one posted) and I cannot integrate with a mailchimp newsletter sign up. It requires a $300. business plan for plugins, which is strange because another site, WordPress.org, is claiming not to charge for this type of integration. Any helpful advice before I throw in the towel on WordPress.com?

Have you tried the Mailchimp Block?

Hi there, Just adding that depending on the theme your client’s site is using, you likely will either want to change Page order https://wordpress.com/support/pages/page-options/#order in the Page Attributes module when opening a Page to edit it, or create a custom menu for the site in the Customizer https://wordpress.com/support/menus/
Just to clarify, WPcom is a hosting platform based on the WP org software. They are separate entities with different documentation and support forums. More information about the differences can be found here: https://wordpress.com/support/com-vs-org/
