Limiting front page posts

  Can I limit the number of posts displayed on a dynamic front page to only the most recent three? My current page stops after 10 posts.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  Yes. Dashboard > Settings > Reading
  Blog pages show at most ___ pages
