Limiting Number of Posts on Page
-
How do I limit the number of posts on my Recent Posts page? I went into Dashboard>Settings>Reading and set that to 5, and then Saved. But the page is still showing every post I’ve added; I’m worried it’s getting way too long for readers! Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Looks like staff are adding that wonderful “infinite scroll” feature to more themes. If yours has a footer, put a blank text widget in it and that should bring up the option to remove infinite scroll on your Settings->Reading page.

Your “Recent Posts” page is not a “posts” page. It is a standard page that you keep adding things to.
You need to read and understand this: http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ .

OK…doesn’t look like my Theme includes footers. It’s cool for now…if it becomes an actual problem for readers, I’ll revisit that issue down the road. Thanks for your help raincoaster!!

If you want “Most Recent Posts” to show your posts in reverse chronological order like a standard blog page, then you have to set that page as the “posts” page at settings > reading.

OK… I know I need to read some of these WP “lessons” again. I’ve been getting the feeling I’m making more work for myself than I need to… and I definitely don’t want to chase readers away ’cause it looks too busy, or gets too complicated to read. I really appreciate your help sacredpath. I’m new to blogging, so it’s been a fun learning process! Did my last post for day so I will “study” some more tomorrow. Thank you!

You are welcome, and don’t sweat it too much. Just take it a step at a time and have fun. I’ve bookmarked your site.
