Line break tags disappearing

    When I go to edit page, WordPress seems to be deleting line breaks that were there previously. When I go to place them back in, I drop in the break tag into HTML view and hit update and the tags is there. But as soon as I go to view page, the line break disappears. I go back to edit page and the tag that was previously there and saved is now gone. Can someone enlighten me as to what might be going on? Thanks!
