Line breaks

I’ve read some of the posts on line break and I can’t find a resolution to my issue.
I have no idea what “editor” I am using – I assume the rich text since I’m not entering my own html. But I also don’t see the “code” tab in my posting options when I’m working on my mac.
My problem is that when I want to insert a paragraph break (i.e., a line between two paragraphs), I get only a space of about maybe 4pts. between the two paragraphs. I’ve tried inserting the html code for more breaks, and for nonbreaking spaces, and nothing is working. Help?

Mark has noted in another thread that this issue is being worked on by staff. Would you please provide other information. What is your OS, which is your browser and what is the version please?

What is the HTML code that you are trying to use for a line break? The reason I ask is that most folks use the wrong one.
ie try using
<br />Most folks try using<br>and that has been incorrect for quite some time in HTML and XML.you may also want to try using
<p> </p>This seems to work better for some themes.You can switch editors at Dashboard -> Users -> Your profile -> A check box located at the top of the page if you want to try the other one.
