Line space after a video
-
I am so tired of trying to get an answer to this question. All I want to do is put some line spaces in a post after a video embed, or even just ONE line space. I have searched and posted a question on the forum which did not answered. What do I do know. I’d just like to say it makes me feel quite annoyed about all this wasted energy trying to get an answer to what really ought to be a simple answer to a simple question.

There should certainly be at least one line of space after each embed.
Can you give me a link to the post or page with the problem?

In case the link doesn’t work, it’s in a post which should come up on the front page, or at least it is in one of the “Top Posts” and it is called “The Word of God” and contains a video called “The Mind of God” and that is where the problem is.

Hm, your theme really likes to smash things up a bit vertically. There is a line break there, but it’s not much.
I forced another for you.
By that, I should clarify that browsers by default remove excess line breaks when viewing, so the only way around that is to force it by either using CSS to align everything or (my preferred method) just leaving a line with a single space in it.
I prefer the single space approach because it’s much more controlled, and you can see exactly what you’re doing in the editor. To do that, switch to the text editor tab and enter the following without the – symbols:
-&-nbsp-;-You can see it in action in the text editor tab on the post now.

I don’t believe this but I just checked the link and it came up with the line space in it.
I thought I was imagining things when it looked right before, then I checked in again and the line was missing, then it wasn’t, then it was!
Now I haven’t made a single change to it, haven’t gone in there at all, but I have it in two windows, one with the right line space and one without where the first line of text is right under the video and it looks awful.
How confusing!

Oh, I’ve used those before on ebay but I stopped using them when I found that on some people’s computers they did not show up as hard spaces but as the actual text &-n-b-s-p, which of course was awful.
Hopefully that won’t happen on WordPress?
