Line Spacing

Am I missing something or is there a way to change line spacing on a post. When I try to post poetry the spacing is always doubled, spreading the text,

Hello there! When you click Enter/Return to create a line break, this is actually interpreted in HTML code as a paragraph break. There is a little workaround for this that I can teach you. I created a Draft of your latest Post so you can see how it’ll look. Take a peek by clicking Posts → All Posts, and view the Draft. If you like what you see, follow these instructions to repeat the process on the remainder of you posts:
- Open your latest post “Goldiva’s Flying Dream” in your Post Editor.
- Copy the entire text of your poem.
- Click on the Text tab in your post editor. You’ll see it’s currently set to the Visual tab.
- You’ll see a lot of coding in that box. That represents what you see on your screen when you look at your site in the browser. Look carefully at the large section that starts [caption id=”attachment_480″ — You’ll see the beginning of your poem, “Goldiva the goldfish went round and round…” Please select the entire poem, from the first words, to the very last. Replace all of that text with the text you copied from the Visual tab. Do not overwrite the “span” code that follows.
You can take a look at the copy/draft I made of the same Post to see how I did this, if you’d like a sample to compare your work against.
- Preview your changes. If you like them, click Update to republish your post with the correct formatting.
You can go back to edit the rest of your posts accordingly. Moving forward, I recommend creating your entire post in the Visual tab except for your poem. Then, click to the Text tab and add the poem directly. You can return to the Visual tab to do any additional formatting you like.
Please let us know if you have any other questions. Thanks so much!
