Line spacing between paragraphs

My spacing between paragraphs is showing up oddly on my posts.

My very first one (Art Battle) gives an example of what I’m talking about after the first few paragraphs. My second post (Art Battle Update) is better. However, I have no idea what I did differently between the two.

I’ve tried hitting my keyboard enter key EXTRA times between the paragraphs that aren’t spaced as I want. That didn’t seem to help.

xt getting squashed together? Are there no spaces between your posts or do you mean you’re unable to add extra spaces?

Hi jrich6671.

First and foremost, thanks a gazillion for providing a link to your blog! You can also link your blog to your user name while you are here in the forums – top right – your profile. Just pop in your blog url. Then when you are in the forums your blog is linked to your name. kewl.

I looked at your blog. Try this >
Using the visual editor, hit Alt-v This will give you more useful tools to use. One of them will be on the left and is called “Format”. Try using the drop down and apply the “Paragraph” option. See if this gives you what you are looking for.

Thanks dissfunktional, but I already have “paragraph” on all from using the visual editor drop down format section. Very odd.

I did link my blog to my user name, good tip.

I noticed a whole lot of coding in your 1st post that need not be there, such as 2 fonts for one sentence, etc. Next to the visual editor is a “code” tab; you can go there an clean up any extra or messy code. This may help your issue as well.

I don’t do any coding myself, so whatever was messy or in there was from just typing in the visual portion.

Anyway, I clicked the clean messy code button and it didn’t make a difference.

Thanks for idea though.

Have same problem. WP deletes spacing between paragraphs. Even in visual or code view…

I am getting REALLY frustrated. I can’t figure out this spacing problem. It really makes a difference visually on reading my posts, and I want to get it fixed. Help!

My latest post again tonight has issues. I just keep going back to visual editor, trying to insert spaces, then viewing it. Or, adding double spaces. Whatever I try IS NOT WORKING.

If you click to the Code editor, have your “P” tags been replaced with “Div” tags? That strips out spaces for some reason. I have no idea why it is occurring, but I have noticed it on my blog from time to time. Just switch them back to P and save.

Raincoaster – I don’t know how to Code, I just use Visual editor. Here’s what I copy/pasted though from Code section from my 1st 2 paragraphs tonight as examples that aren’t spacing. Last sentence of my 1st paragraph is “I wanted something to feed my game addiction.” Does this give you any insight for helping?

I signed up for a Facebook account a few months ago, and became addicted to finding cool applications to load. I wasn’t interested in silly invites from my friends to add fake plants I had to water, or to become an online Vampire and get my fangs in people. I wanted something to feed my game addiction.

People that know me well know how much I enjoy games. They are not B-O-R-E-D games to me, but a great way to unwind and have fun. I’ve always been partial to word games, and to Boggle in particular.

thesacredpath – I have WindowsXP (version 2002) and use Windows Internet Explorer. Or did I misunderstand what you need?

That’s a lot of tags. How strange, if you’re just typing. Try deleting all of this kind of thing:


and replace with
 paragraph goes here

Thanks raincoaster. I actually modified where it said to list it at . That seemed to work.

I agree, there’s a lot of duplication in the code, which I hadn’t tried messing with until just now. I wonder if it’s b/c I kept trying to force spaces, reimporting some text, etc.

WP has been a little weird lately with the alignment and such. I hope these are just momentary blips. Glad I could help, even somewhat.
