Line spacing (I Know – again)

    At the top of my blog posts, I have a sticky, which has a pic and then some text. Can anybody tell me, please, how I can reduce the gap between the pic and the text? http://dickiebodos.wordpress.com
    Thanks.

    These are the contents of your post:
    – Some (useless) HTML for styling a paragraph
    – Invisible link to “2508-donkey-black-knight-herd-sire-rh-9-30-01a1.jpg”
    – Bad links to “magnifying-glass.jpg”
    – The actual image and caption
    – Eight invisible links to “magnifying-glass.jpg”
    – Red text, enclosed in the HTML for styling it.

    So just switch the editor to HTML and delete everything first, re-do the post, and then we’ll see about the gap.

    And forget “font-family:andy”: it’s not a common font, so visitors who don’t have it in their computers won’t see it (I’m seeing Times instead).

    Blimey! It is a mess. What next, please?

    Ok, now that you got rid of the garbage:

    Most of the gap is due to a problem with captioned images in the theme you’re using. So I suggest you upload the image again without a caption, then change the post to this (in the HTML editor, of course):

    <div style="text-align:center;">
    IMAGE CODE HERE
    <p style="margin-top:-20px;margin-bottom:16px;">
    BLACK TEXT HERE
    </p>
    <p style="color:#ff0000;">
    RED TEXT HERE
    </p>
    </div>

    You can change the margin-top and margin-bottom numbers to adjust the space above and below the black text.

    Thanks very much indeed for your patience!!! I’ve done me best (!) but I’m at a bit of a disadvantage in that I’m getting just too old to comprehend the finer parts………..
    Thanks again.

    You’re welcome. And your only disadvantage is that you’re not very familiar with this stuff yet. (Perhaps you’ll be relieved to know that when I was first shown HTML a few years ago, I ran away in horror…) If you wish, I’ll gladly explain any of the “finer parts”.

    Thanks, but………….you don’t know what you’re letting yourself in for! lol.
