Link added to blogroll by someone other than administrator?
-
I am the only administrator to this blog: albanylibrary.wordpress.com This morning there was a link to another WP blog in my Blogroll that I didn’t add. I sent a note off to the authors and they didn’t know where it came from. I deleted the link but I’m still scratching my head. The blog was called “George” but I didn’t note the URL before deleting. Can others add their links to my blog without permission?

k..so thats the second scarey thing that I have come across today at wordpress! To the best of my knowledge..No one, other than the admin can add ny links to the Blogroll.

Okay, mystery solved. One author had used the tag surfer for “vampires” and it then showed up as a category. And the weblog was posted by an author, but still not sure how since she isn’t supposed to have permission. I will consider resolved.

Authors can both edit and publish posts. http://faq.wordpress.com/2006/05/12/what-are-the-different-roles/
Adding a new category to your tag surfer will likewise add it to your Categories but that has nothing to do with your blogroll. Please read carefully what the roles entitles the users to do and you will find your answer. Editors can manage links. -
Also note that unless or until a blog Administrator chooses to give other users “roles” and add them as “users” they do not have access to any part of the blog. They are simply “readers” who can comment if they so choose.
