I have a website and I would like to link my blog to the website I simply cannot understand the directions they are so convoluted and i am afraid I shall make a mistake.

There is no such thing as a premium account. You purchased a pro upgrade bundle for a blog and that has no relevance at all to what you are asking about.
Create a custom menu on your free hosted WordPress.com blog.

If what you want is the reverse ie. to link to your blog from your website read on.
Every wordpress blog has an RSS feed for posts (entries).
This is the URL for the feed for your blog’s posts (entries):
http://balijames.wordpress.com/feed/
As you deleted the placeholder post and have yet to publish a post nothing can be displayed in the RSS Feed until you publish a post.If you website is set up to draw from and RSS Feed that’s all you need. If it’s not set up to do that We do not provide support for installing the capacity on your website to draw the RSS feed from your blog.
On your website you will have to write something in PHP or javascript to do that. Here are a couple options:
