Link blog to WordPress.com

I have two external blogs and I have a WordPress.com account. Blog 1 is fine and the WordPress.com stats work fine. Blog 2 i get the follow error:

Error from last API Key attempt:

The owner of that API Key (l********) is not on the access list for this blog. When this blog was registered, ‘s API key was used. To add you to the access list, must visit this blog’s stats dashboard page and use the form at the bottom of that page.

The WordPress.com Stats Plugin is not working because it needs to be linked to a WordPress.com account.

Enter your WordPress.com API key to link this blog to your WordPress.com account. Be sure to use your own API key! Using any other key will lock you out of your stats. (Get your key here.)

How do I link my WordPress.com Stats Plugin to blog 2?

This sounds to me like a question that staff may need to answer. Have you sent in a “support” ticket requesting their help?

How does this go again…..*thinking out loud*. I think it is because the email address or username of the admin logged in while enabling the plugin is not the same as the one that you registered the wordpress.com blog/username for the API in the first place. It happened to me and I had to use the API created from the same email address I think. See if that is relevant to the situation.
