link button not working

The insert link button is not working, I’ve switched browsers, devices, computers, even disabled popops and it will not give me the menu to insert the link when highlighting text.
Need a solution immediately on deadline to post

I had to use the ‘new way to post’ on an iPad it still does not work on a desktop with classic posting (which in general works better)

The window to define the link is not coming on, so nothing happens when you click the link button to add a link

Are you selecting the text that you want linked like screencast I provided you? If you don’t select the text the link button should be greyed out.
If you are, can you please try clearing out your cache and cookies using the guide below?
Then, restart your browser and try again.
Also, please make sure your browser is updated to the most recent version:
If it’s still not working, just as a workaround for now, you can add a link via the Text Editor. Switch to that instead of the Visual editor and add this:
<a href="URL_HERE">YOUR_TEXT_HERE</a>Let me know if you have any questions with this!

Thanks, as I stated originally, I tried many browsers on both pc and mac and made sure pop ups etc weren’t blocked. I know how to make a link, and troubleshoot — this blog alone has been around for years. It is not working the way it normally does.

I see. Since I’m unable to reproduce this on my end, I’ll take a further look and see if this is happening elsewhere.
For now, please use the workaround.
