Link coming back to my site
-
This afternoon, I posted a link, which I had tried on Goggle to be sure it was good. It was, and is good. However, in my post, it links back to my site. I’ve tried without http and with it. No change. What am I doing wrong, please?

Hi Shirley.
Can you give the exact text that you put in to create the post? If you can only see the link itself and no html go to Users in your dashboard and scroll to the bottom. There’s a tickbox that says “Use Rich Text Editor”, untick it.
You should be able to see something like
<a href="http://....I suspect in that information for the link something went wrong and the actual link (when you click) is pointing back to your blog rather than the right place.
Hope this helps!

I’m thinking the issue is with the Blogarama link in the sidebar since that appears to be the only picture missing and is probably causing the sidebar to sink as well since it’s too wide for it.
It looks like you tried to put all of the URL information into the image slot of the form. Please try this:
– Go into your Dashboard -> Bookmarks and click on edit for the link you’re having an issue with.
– URL: http: //www.blogarama.com/
– Name: Blogarama
– Description: Blogarama – The Blog DirectoryThen click on the plus sign of the Advanced tab and fill this in:
– Image URL: http: //www.blogarama.com/images/button.gif
Note that I have to add a space here after the http: to get the information to show up correctly here in the forums. When you copy this into your DashBoard, you need to remove the space to get it to work.
Then click on Save changes and it should work fine. The image though appears to be too large for your blog though as it’s forcing the sidebar down to the bottom.
(Podz, this needs to be a FAQ if it’s not already.)
Quick aside. I note that you’re trying to do tags on your blog. You might want to try this instead as without having them as links, they’re probably not going to show up for you.
Hope this helps,

Dr Mike – Shirley has removed the offending link from the article that she was having problems with, it’s the one about the bloke too short for prison.
I have left a comment for her to visit the thread and explain a little more so that we can help her.
Nice catch on the T Tags – I missed that completely!

Ok, the Blogarama link/ image is broken as well. If you look at the source, you’ll see what she’s done. Hopefully she’ll understand my explaination and we can fix her other issue. :)

Thanks for all the help, everybody. Collin, I did as you suggested and the problem was resolved. Now, though, the article has expired on that page. :) Oh, well.

I’m glad that with all our cross comment posting and the confusion that this is sorted! Please don’t hesitate to ask if you need help again!
