link displays full http address, not clever tag

  So I figured out how to create a link, but when I type it in instead of displaying the tag I created such as “link here” it displays the full lame http/www.whatever.org.net address. I am using firefox and a mac laptop if it matters. Thanks for any help I can get with this problem and if you need more info I’ll provide it.

  If you’re in the visual editor, type the link as you want it to be seen (e.g. link here), then highlight this and click on the link button (chain symbol). Put the url in the box and away you go.

  If you’re in the html editor you’ll need this coding:

  <a href="URL HERE">Text here</a>

  typing the a href stuff into the html editor worked and I willtry the visual editor method in a sec. thanks for your help guys.
