Link for followers to

Hi. This tip on your support page doesn’t seem to work: https://en.support.wordpress.com/blog-subscription-shortcode/
I’d like to put a link in the text of my posts that readers can click to follow my blog…since the subscribe box doesn’t appear in the posts themselves.
Thx! Deb

Hi,
The shortcode worked properly in my test. However, if you’re logged into the site then instead of a form you’ll see the title and “You are following this blog” (perhaps twice), with a link to the Manage Followed Sites page.
The Follow Blog Widget support page contains the following relevant note:
Readers who are logged in to WordPress.com can also follow your blog using the follow button in the top toolbar. Readers not logged in to WordPress.com will see a follow button on the bottom right corner of your site if you have the follow blog button activated.

By “you’ll see the title” I meant the post or page title. I only included the shortcode in a test page.

Thx for the reply! I’ve got the “Follow” button and email form in the footer of my blog, but I want to put it in individual posts, since the footer is so far down.
When I use the shortcode in the HTML of a post, it appears as text; i.e., it’s not translating the HTML into a form.
Thoughts?

Deb,
Are you including the brackets? The code inserted into the post or page should look exactly like this:
[blog_subscription_form]
If that doesn’t work, then I suggest you add a “modlook” tag to the sidebar of this topic to call for staff attention.Regards,

Hi. Yes, I pasted it in, brackets and all.
OH! I just tried it on my PC at work by typing it in, rather than pasting it. It worked!
(I prefer not to use a sidebar, because it makes the post so much narrower.)
Thanks for hanging in there with me!
