Link Icon dark not allowing me to add a link

  links option not working
  Please help…When I am writing a draft why are the link options not available? I am trying to link another post of mine to the new post I am writing and I can’t insert the short link url from another post. I did notice that once a post is published it seems the link buttons (in the tool bar) is now lit…WHY can’t I add a link to another post of mine in draft mode before I publish the post? I don’t recall it being like this in the distant past….why now? Thanks.

  Try typing the word you want to link first, then highlight it and press the link button.
