Can you make sure you’ve highlighted text to link? The link icon will be greyed out until you highlight text. Then, it should appear active!

I don’t understand. Here’s what I want to do:
At the end of my post, on a separate line, I want to put a link to a web page. Now what text, exactly, am I supposed to highlight. Where is it?

I think we’re talking about two different link variations.
There are links that are embedded within the text. Those appear like this:
For those types of links, you would need to type out a sentence of text that you want to link and then press the link button in the toolbar as explained here:

However, if you just want the URL to be displayed like this:
You can just copy and paste the link directly onto it’s own line. We’ll automatically link it for you. So, when the post is published, the link will be clickable.
