Link in caption

@ panaghiotisadam: Thank you so much for being such a kind and helpful person. But I’ve already posted and it looks OK with the link at the end of my post.
I never thought it would be a science to make a click-able link. :-)
I thank you for your offer but I think that all this effort should be used for a better purpose.
In this case I’ll just get by with a less ambitious blogging method.
:-D)))

panos,
Not at all, I thought of putting the code just in case universalgeni was missing something (posting code would help). It does work for me…

You’re welcome.
Small correction: making a clickable link is no science; what’s a bit of a science is making a link that’s part of an image caption that’s properly aligned below the image and the whole is enclosed in a frame and aligned the way you like in relation to the rest of the post text…
-
Hahaha! Now, that’s what I call a scentific explanation, panaghiotisadam! This thread is priceless! Big grin from me here!
-
You guys are so sophisticated. This is how a non-techy like me does it.
<table>
<tr>
<td>row 1, cell 1</td>
<td>row 2, cell 1</td>
</tr>
</table>In row 1 cell 1 I upload the image
In row 2 cell 1 I enter the anchor text for the caption and link it to the URLDone!
-
NB: You new “My Cabin” link is exactly what I had in mind, panaghiotisadam! Wikipedias entry for that county, mountain, river, lake or whatever could have been under your “My Cabin” text.
Then if you had a link under the photo also that link could take the reader to a map showing the area or something else.

I think I can manage TT’s version. But I must admit that the tech men inhere impressed me!
-
@tt: That will give caption next to image, not below it. You mean:
<table> <tr><td>IMAGE CODE</td></tr> <tr><td>CAPTION</td></tr> </table>That’s ok as long as you need no text wrap and no border. My version is meant to simulate the WP caption look (you know, grey frame and all).

Sorry, to both of you! It must be the lack of tech brain here. Can’t keep track of two things at the same time without getting them mixed up! :-)))
-
@ devblog: it couldn’t be a big issue for Staff to implement that feature. The “My Cabin” test post shows exactly what the possibilities are. The caption function could do with a little development, I think.
This thread should be moved to the idea forum…
