Link Incorrect

I’m brand new at this. I want to add a “button” from another blog to my sidebar. I finally figured out how to get the picture in there but when you click on it, it goes to the link for the button above it. My blog is sewgratefulquilts. I’m trying to get Verandah Views to link to this web page
    http://willowberrydesigns.typepad.com/willowberry_designs/2009/01/verandah-views-10-month-free-stitchery-bom.html

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Is this your blog? http://sewgratefulquilts.wordpress.com/ If so, please link it in your user name as explained in the sticky, 8 Things, at the top of the forums.

The reason it is linking to the item above is that you are missing a closing tag

    </a>

at the end of the text in the previous widget.

For that widget, I believe the text should be:

    <a href="http://willowberrydesigns.typepad.com/willowberry_designs/2009/01/verandah-views-10-month-free-stitchery-bom.html"><img src="http://willowberrydesigns.typepad.com/.a/6a00e54f8e718b8833010536c13368970b-320wi"></a>

Thanks so much Vivian. I linked my blog to my user name as requested. I fixed the item above my problem and copied the text you gave me in the new item and it worked perfectly. I would like to figure out how to do this on my own. I can see the text that is the same as what I had. Guess that is just for the picture. Where did the other come from i.e., ???

    Thanks again for your help.

Well, sewgratefulquilts, the model for a linking image is this:
    <a href="URL_OF_SITE_HERE"><img src="URL_OF_IMAGE_HERE"></a>

And there is the FAQ on writing links.

Thanks. I’ll look for those FAQ’s now.

    Just a comment.

This is a new language for me. I did as you suggested. Went to FAQ (I had gone there before I posted a question) and found “How can I post buttons and images links in my sidebar?” Wonderful, exactly what I needed to know. The first sentence is “If you want to display a Del.icio.us or Bloglines button for any image link, you can do this from Links Management.” I can’t understand the first sentence. Now I’m off looking up what Del.icio.us and Bloglines mean which may or may not solve my problem. Sometimes it gets frustrating trying to learn a new language, but I’m working on it.

Thanks for your help and giving me what I needed for the moment.

You don’t need to worry about Delicious or Bloglines. That’s actually a whole DIFFERENT issue.

    Try this:

Put an image in your sidebar

And if you want the image to be a link, you just put the link code around it:

    Links

You will have to use the HTML editor method, as text widgets have to be written in code. OR, there’s a workaround: I write the widgets in the Write Post box, as if they were a draft post, and when the are just the way I want them I click to the HTML editor, copy all the code, and put THAT into the widget.
