Hello –
Thanks for reaching out. I’ll be glad to help you get that button working. First, I want to make sure I’m looking at the proper space on the site. I’m looking at the preorder page and see this button. Is that the one you need help with?

Be well and talk soon!

Hello,
No problem at all! I understand that you’d like the button on your preorder page to redirect to the “Payment Button” page. Sadly in this case I’m not sure that this is possible using the form you have created.
I am not familiar with the Forminator plugin directly (this was created by a 3rd party we are not connected to) but after a bit of research I can see that the creators of the plugin do offer a few different ecommerce integrations but to access those you need to upgrade to their “Pro” offering, which they discuss in more detail here.
It may help if I explain that third-party plugins in WordPress are comparable to smartphone apps. Initially, they provide essential functionalities for free, akin to basic app features. However, to access more advanced capabilities, users often need to upgrade to a premium version. Plugins are like this as well, so WordPress.com staff is not able to make a connection to an outside payments system.
In the case of Forminator, while they do offer a way to accept payments, it seems that you have to use their specific integration. I did not see a way (that they offer) to connect with outside payment systems, so I don’t think there will be a way to connect the button in your form to a payments portal that has been set up on another page. You may wish to contact them directly to see if they do, it could be the case that I did not find it while searching their documentation.
I think you have a few options here:
- You can upgrade your form plugin and use their payment integration. I saw that they offer Stripe for payment processing but may offer other options as well.
- You could also consider switching to WooCommerce, which is a free plugin that allows you to set up your own ecommerce funcitonality. It is not driven by filling out a form first, but instead a shopper would add the product to their cart, and then provide info upon checkout when they pay.
To give you a sense of how easy it is to set up a WooCommerce store and add simple product entires such as your book to the site.
Once again, apologies that your form does not support the ability to link to the payments page you have already set up, but I hope this gives you some ideas for moving forward.
Let us know if you need further assistance or if you have any questions and we’re happy to take a look!

Hi again,
I forgot to add that Woo is owned by the same parent company that owns WordPress.com (Automattic) so another advantage of using Woo to power the store features on your site is that support is included along with your WordPress.com plan. So if you have questions about setup, payment processing, etc. you can contact us using the options already available under your plan.
Hope that helps. Please let us know if you have any more questions.

Thank you so much for clearing that up! Yes, I’m familiar with WooCommerce and will use that. Much appreciated!!
