link or plug-in / widget from WordPress.com to Constant Contact

  I use WordPress.com and Constant Contacts. I want to allow visitors to enter their email address and have it feed directly to Constant Contacts.

  I reviewed your forum and it is clear that a direct feed (using CC code) is impossible due to security reasons related to WP.com. However, those posts are *more than a year old.* So I want to confirm… *as of today,* is it still impossible to get a direct feed from WP.com to CC? Do you happen to know if there is an approved Constant Contact plug-in yet? If not, perhaps you know of an automated workaround? Google Docs was mentioned in one of the forums. Thanks! ~ Tim

  Hi there!

  I’m sorry it’s taken so long to get to your response! Currently, the CC embed code is still stripped from WordPress.com blogs, so directly embedding a Constant Contact form into your WordPress.com site is not possible. One main workaround used with other services like Mailchimp can be found here:

  Essentially, you can create the form through the intended service (like Constant Contact). Then, you can include a link to the form in your sidebar. When visitors click the link, they are prompted to input their information, which feeds directly into your Constant Contact database. Do you know if it’s possible to obtain a URL that directs to your Constant Contact form? It looks like you could do it through the method here:

  Use of CC is above my paygrade, so not using mailchimp. But I’ll check the CC link, as well as look at forming a link via google docs.

  I’m sure that I can make something work… just wanted a current status on the WP.com prohibition on code for CC embeds.

  Unfortunately, the embed is still not available, but it’s something that we may look at adding in the future. Adding a link to your sidebar is currently the best way to use another subscriber widget.
