Link Problems
-
Hi everybody….I’m new to WordPress and just published my first post last night. I’ve been trying to add links in my sidebar, but they aren’t showing up. Could somebody please tell me how to do that? I sure would appreciate it.

We need a link to your wordpress.COM blog, since the site in your user name is not hosted here. Please consider changing the link in your user name to your blog here as explained in the sticky, 8 Things, at the top of the forum.

Thanks, Vivian. My user name is hosted here, but I inadvertently added the wrong URL. I went in and changed that, and tried to add links to my sidebar again, and it still doesn’t work. Nothing shows up.

We need a little more information. How have you tried to add links? Did you go into your dashboard under manage>links?

I don’t even see a sidebar on your site. Looks like to me you made a static page and set it as your front page but you don’t have a posts page. Take a look at the FAQ here for instructions http://faq.wordpress.com/2007/02/20/having-a-static-page-at-the-front-of-the-blog/

I can see that you have the Links Widget added – this is good. However, you must actually add the links from Write -> Link or Manage -> Links. You will see from Manage -> Links that you do not currently have any at all.
This is all explained in http://faq.wordpress.com/2008/07/08/the-blogroll/
