Link Styling
-
Definitely a noob question, but I need to figure one small thing out. I love the way my blog looks except for the one tiny detail that my links that I write within the text are bolded. I have the CSS upgrade and I’ve been trying to figure out how to un-bold the links and I’ve so far been unable to figure it out. Would really appreciate some help. –Sam

I use the same theme and the links are not bold unless I make them so. If you aren’t doing that then another cause could be copying and pasting from others sources. Simply edit the posts and in the HTML code editor remove the
<strong>link</strong>code and that should do it. -
I don’t have the CSS upgrade on my blog. The bold lettering is not the norm for this theme. If you gave not been copying and pasting and creating this problem then you ought to ask Staff for help. If that’s the only reason you bought a CSS upgrade then try to get a refund.
If you do intend to get into CSS editing then you w3ill benefit from reading this > http://csswiz.wordpress.com/2009/10/15/if-you-have-the-wp-com-css-upgrade/

I haven’t been bolding any of the links when I write, that’s just how it comes out. With respect to the HTML code editor, I’m not sure what you’re talking about.
-
Oh my … the editor has two modes. One is Visual and one is HTML (Code). See here > http://en.support.wordpress.com/editors/
If you go to your edit posts page http://notoutofthe.wordpress.com/wp-admin/edit.php and edit the latest post on your blog and find
<strong>around the links</strong>then remove it from the code, click “Update” on the post and you will have solved your problem. -
If you do not find those “bold” tags in the post then the other possibility is that the color of blue you chose for the links is harsh. In that case you can change it to a softer blue color on your Vigilance options page.
-
Yeah I didn’t find any of those. Would the color scheme really cause the font weight to change, though?
-
Yeah it’s not the font either. I actually figured out how to de-bold the links using CSS, but it only applied to my links that weren’t written in the actual text. It seems like it’s just glitched or something.

hwgboys,
Remove this from your code:
a:link,a:active,a:visited { font-style:normal; }and add this:
a {font-weight: normal !important;}That should do what you want.

Gee… I guess I didn’t pay much attention and went a bit too far. My bad.
Just add a “p” right before the “a” selector. That will take care of all the links inside “p” tags. Once you add it, the selectors should look like this.
p a { font-weight:normal !important; } -
