link subcategories

  I have links set up in subcategories – I would like them to all be under one section of the sidebar called links, then have sub link categories. currently they are listed as main categories and it looks kind of sloppy. is there anything I can do to have the links in subcategories show up under the parent links. Or if that doesn’t work – is there anyway to create a page of links. (I just set up a links page for http://www.iheartpgh.com – which is wordpress.org but it solved the problem of having too many links in the sidebar).
  Any help with managing these links would be greatly appreciated.

  A couple of solutions here.

  Visit the Dashboard -> Write -> Write Page page and see if there’s a template for Links with your theme. Some themes have it but if this one does, you’re stuck with how the theme designer arrainged it.

  Create a Links page manually. That’s what i finally did for my blogs here at Wp.com.

  Create a Links widget manually out of a text widget.

  I think may have come up with a solution to this problem. I am not a coder, so would welcome anyone’s suggestions on how to improve my solution. I posted how to do this on my blog.

  Please note that I’m not a professional coder, so this is certainly more of a workaround than anything. I hope this helps someone.

  lucas – that won’t work on the blogs hosted at wordpress.com unless someone has the custom CSS thing (and I don’t know enough about that to know whether it will work then). We don’t have access to the theme.

  The link 404’s for me and I don’t see it on their recent posts list. I guess they deleted it.

  Apologies — the post was accidentally marked as ‘Private’ (hence the 404). And that’s a good point vivianpaige, I’m not sure whether this would work for people with blogs hosted at wordpress.com (I’ve never had mine hosted there, so I’m not sure).

  The link should be working now, so maybe this will help after all.

  It won’t work here at wp.com as we don’t have access to the underlying files. You need to be discussing this over at wp.org.

  Nice solution though.
