link to a domain name

  I set up a blog on WordPress: whatcolorisyourcape.wordpress.com.
  I would like the domain name to appear as: whatcolorisyourcape.org.
  I have previously purchased whatcolorisyourcape.org. from another register domain site.
  Can I use this domain name with the wordpress site I’d like to set up?

  Yes you can. You need to map the domain to WordPress.com
  https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

  You also need to update the DNS at your domain registrar to point at WordPress.com

  do I point it at whatcolorisyourcape.wordpress.com?

  or just http://www.wordpress.com?

  You put WordPress nameservers (NS1.WORDPRESS.COM, NS2.WORDPRESS.COM, NS2.WORDPRESS.COM) in your registrar’s admin panel.
