Link To: Attachment Page not working
-
Hi – I have 3 images on my landing pages. On each image I tried putting “Link To: Attachment Page” as I want users to click on one image and then use the arrows to move to Previous/Next. However, when I do this, it skips the second image – then if I go back by hitting Previous it will show images that I don’t even have on the webpage. I dont want to use slideshow as then things dont fit on the page the way I want. How do I get the three images to show using Previous/Next?

Have you tried adding the images to an image gallery? Depending on the gallery style you choose I think you’ll still be able to get the thumbnail images to display in one line like they do now, and then you can set it to display in a full-size carousel when clicked.

Yes, I tried that but then they are too small in the initial display. I want to display them as images and have Link to: Attachment Page, but it is not working – please advise how to fix that.
Also, I entered titles for the images but when I click on the image it still shows the name of the file instead of my title – how do we fix that?Thank you

With Attachment Pages it’s complicated.
They display in upload order only. And, as you’ve already found out, if you uploaded any other image at the same time in the same page, those image Attachment pages are included in the Previous/Next navigation.
If you liked the Gallery, it is possible to change the size of the display of the default thumbnail image by modifying the Gallery shortcode a little in the Text Editor. Add size=”medium” between the shortcode brackets, so that it looks something like:
[gallery columns="3" ids="329,328,327" size="medium"]Only thing is, you should use the Photo Carousel as default. That way you can order the image display the way you want and it won’t include other images in the navigation.
