Link to Onedrive does not display
-
Susan and I were looking at this furhter tonight and so far have still only been able to replicate the embedding issue on Windows 8 with Internet Explorer 11.
But in that same environment, visiting the spreadsheet directly on OneDrive worked. So I’ve reported this to our developers and hopefully we can track down what’s making it load so poorly as an embed.
We’ll keep testing it out though. :)

Alex & Susan – thanks for your help.
One think that might be worth following up is to right-click on the link (or where the link should be) and select “inspect element”. Sometimes this connects to the link, but today I just got the spreadsheet briefly appearing, then going away again.
Possibly more useful is the information displayed at the bottom of the screen which I presume shows the code going on behind the scenes.

Yup, that is helpful. One thing I’ve especially noticed is that when the embed fails, a bunch of errors are appearing in the Javascript console. No errors when it’s doesn’t fail.
Makes me think there’s some debugging to be done, but the errors I was seeing are a little beyond me.
I’ll let you know of any updates once our developers have a chance to take a look. :)

I recently found on another WordPress site a link to onedrive that does work on my machine:
<!-- iframe plugin v.3.0 wordpress.org/plugins/iframe/ --> <iframe width="637" height="350" frameborder="0" scrolling="no" src="https://onedrive.live.com/embed?cid=39546ECE49C211F9&resid=39546ECE49C211F9%212005&authkey=AAfKEQhbEupiNJQ&em=2&wdAllowInteractivity=False&AllowTyping=True&ActiveCell='Sheet2'!A1&Item='Sheet2'!A1%3AL16&wdHideGridlines=True&wdDownloadButton=True" class="iframe-class"></iframe>Do I need to install the iframe plugin, or how can I get a similar link generated?

The blog with the working links is:
http://aperiodical.com/2015/03/pi-and-the-mysterious-excel-function/ -
When you use our Onedrive shortcode, the shortcode does render the embed in an iFrame.
For example, let’s look at one of your pages where the embed is working correctly in Chrome, just not in IE:
https://newtonexcelbach.wordpress.com/2014/02/21/6-year-report/
If you’ll “View Page Source” you’ll find that we create the iframe and add the embed into it:
If one tries to add iframe tags manually to posts or page, we scrape those out on WordPress.com. This iframe is being added by the Onedrive shortcode.
When it works, it’s working as expected. Just not sure why the shortcode isn’t playing nice with Internet Explorer on Windows 8.
Just checked out the bug report and it’s working its way up the developer’s queue, but no updates at the moment.

Sorry, I don’t have any updates on a fix yet. There’s been a team assigned to the bug though, so I’ll report back here with any info they provide.

This problem still occurs, but something I have just discovered that may help to find a solution:
If you right click and select properties, then close the dialog box, the spreadsheet appears pretty well straight away.

Thanks for the update!
I’m seeing the same thing as well, and I’ve added that information to my bug report with the developers.
I still do not have any updates on a fix, but will report back here whenever there’s new information. :)
