link to posts or pages from gallery

  how do you link to posts/pages from individual images in an image gallery. I want to show a portfolio and go to the page or post the further describes that portfolio item.

  The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  The Gallery feature http://en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/ in its current iteration can link to a larger image in the Photo Carousel (default), Attachment pages (where a larger image appears in your site’s theme template), the direct Media file or None, if you use the thumbnail grid. It does not support linking to other Posts or Pages.

  But you mention a Portfolio. Have you checked out the Portfolio feature? http://en.support.wordpress.com/portfolios/

  thanks for the info on the portfolio. It doesn’t seem to work the way I want mine to work..
  For e.g.

  I need a top level menu that contains the item Portfolio which has submenus of Drawings, Watercolours, Paintings etc… and then each submenu page having galleries that can link to the posts for each work.
