linked amazon pictures not showing up in text anymore

    Hello,

I’m the author of a private blog about books using wordpress (https://erlesenebuecher.wordpress.com/) and I’m also taking part in Amazons partner program (no idea whether that’s the proper term in english).

Now, since several days (in fact, it’s some weeks by now) the pictures embedded into my text, which are as well linking to the Amazon item they’re about, are not showing up anymore.
This is true for any browser I’ve tried with (Windows 7 w. IE, Firefox, OSX w.Firefox, Safari, Android w. Chrome, Firefox9, so it can’t really be a matter of either the operating systems or the browsers. The “best” that is showing up is that more or less typical icon (sort of looking like [x]) for missing pictures (using IE/Windows).

Inside the wordpress editor the pictures are still showing up and the links seem to be working, too. It’s also that my older articles are affected as well – but I haven’t changed anything with them.

According to Amazon, they haven’t changed anything in the functionality of their links, either.

Further (and making me wonder yet some more), the pictures plus their according links are still showing up in my sidebar without any problems.
So it’s really just the text which is affected.

I’ve been emptying the caches of the used browsers, have tried to change the format of the pictures and the way they’re aligned inside the text, I also fooled around with changing some of the text/code of the links Amazon is providing – all to no avail.

Would you happen to have any sort of idea about how to get things back to how they were?

    Many thanks in advance

    Julia Franck

No blogger initiated advertising is allowed on WordPress.com blogs. The only blogs that can be equipped for ecommerce are those with the $299. per year business upgrade. http://en.support.wordpress.com/ecommerce/

The only advertising program at WordPress.com is called WordAds and it’s for blogs on their own domains.

Advertising outside of WordAds at WordPress.com is not allowed.

    re: affiliate-links
    1. WordPress.com allows bloggers to insert text affiliate links within post and page content to most third-party affiliate programs, provided they are not the primary content of the site in question.

    2. Image affiliate links in posts and pages and any banners, affiliate links in sidebar or footer widget areas, are still considered to be advertising and are not allowed on WordPress.com blogs.
