  I have two blogs linked, is there a way to have different names show up when I post? Like have blog 1 be posted by “a” and blog 2 be posted by “b” so that no one can tell they are posted by the same author?

  The public display name is specific to your account, not blogs. So – to have two different public display names, you would need to have two separate accounts. You would first need to create the new account from https://wordpress.com/signup and then have support transfer one of your blogs to this new account – http://support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#transferring-your-blog-to-another-user-or-account

  The username or nickname is associated with the user, not with any particular blog.

  What you could do is to create another account (you will need a different email address for that since each account has to have a unique email address) and then add the new user to the current account as an administrator. In the new account you could then set a new different nickname. You would then have to be signed into the correct account depending on which blog you wanted to post on.
