Linked Gravatar & Website
-
I’m not exactly sure how to explain the problem I’m having, but I’ll do my best and will appreciate ANY feedback I can get! :-)
I have two websites, both hosted through the same company and both set up as a WordPress based site. My problem is that I would like to have each website linked to my Gravatar, or whatever it is that pops up when I’m commenting on someone else’s post.
For instance: If I’m working in my primary website and respond to comments, the person can click my name and go to my primary site. HOWEVER, if I’m wanting to respond to the commentors on my 2nd site, when they click my name it still goes back to my original website.
The reason I want the separate identity (not that I’m trying to be someone else… it’s still ME), is because one is a faith-based website and the other is one I have set up and would like to eventually make money with.
The problem is, all the responders from my second site keep clicking my name and signing up for the original site! So the traffic I want to go to my 2nd site winds up on my first.
Clear as mud?? I know I can go in and change the email address in my Gravatar itself, but I’d just really like to keep them separate without all the hassle.
Thank you so much, in advance, to anyone who can help!

Hi, so with a single Gravatar account, the only way to change the link that appears is to manually change it each time you comment. Otherwise the default link from your profile will show up each time.
If you want to set up two separate accounts for commenting, you’re welcome to do that too. You need to use a different email address for one of them. If you’re using gmail, you can use an alias — instead of
(email visible only to moderators and staff)you can use(email visible only to moderators and staff)— gmail will deliver mail to the same box, but our system will see it as another address.Just note that will only work with commenting going forward. There’s no great way to edit past comments you’ve left on other folks’ sites.
Hoping that helps!

Supernovia, thank you so much for the detailed reply! I’m going to try the first thing and see how that helps. As to creating another email address, I did that, through Gravatar, and it says I have no blogs! I’m not sure what I did wrong. I already have a different email in my settings on my 2nd site, but somehow, it’s still associated with the original one.
Again, thank you so very much! I’m going to work on it some tonight and see what I can come up with :-)
