LinkedIn Badge, Text Widget
-
I use the free version of WordPress referenced above. I have attempted to insert a LinkedIn Profile Badge in the Sidebar. In every case, after pasting the 2 lines of LinkedIn code as “Text,” and saving, I see the 2 following links in preview:
https://platform.linkedin.com/badges/js/profile.js
Al Claiborne
The first link connects to a page of code. The second link connects to my LinkedIn Profile. No image or Badge appears. Is the free version of WordPress limiting the ability to use script to insert the LinkedIn Badge? I also attempted to use the “Custom HTML” Widget but received an Error message every time. Thank you.

Hello @alz9000,
I looked up the forum to find an answer for your question from an authentic source on the forum, here is what I found a staff member suggest:
Quoting @kokkieh:
Hi there,
The LinkedIn badge cannot be added on WordPress.com, except on our Business Plan, as we don’t allow script tags here for security reasons:
But what you can do is to create the badge on LinkedIn, and take a screen shot of it. Then add that screen shot to your site using an image widget, and link it back to your profile on LinkedIn.
This does mean the whole badge will be clickable, not just the View Profile button, and it won’t update automatically should details on your LinkedIn profile change, but it’s better than nothing.
Hope this was of help.
