LinkedIn Sharing – Chrome Error – Can't find my website

FYI: I don’t have a blog as shown above, but a website for my company: http://www.gandmconsult.com, that I need help with.

I’m trying to share my posts with my LinkedIn account. I click on the add link for LinkedIn, log in to LinkedIn, then get the error message above.

The error message goes on to say it can’t find my website but instead of using “www” it shows only “ww”. I’ve removed the application from LinkedIn, cleared cache and cookies, etc.

I can log in to my LinkedIn account just fine, but somewhere there must be an error in my company website name. Does anyone know where I should look?

    It should be http://www.gandmconsult.com.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Get rid of the “www” altogether.

www is an old protocol from back when everything was under separate server hardware. www (www.example.com) was the web server, mail (mail.example.com) was the mail server, ftp (ftp.example.com) was the FTP server, print (print.example.com) was the print server, etc. These days, everything is run under the web server, making www. redundant and a waste of four characters. Note that all “www” URLs are redirected to the URL without the unnecessary “www”.

That being said, we cannot help you here with that site. We provide support only for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs and you are posting to the wrong support forum.

WordPress.com and WordPress.org are completely separate, have different log-ins and run different versions of themes with same names. If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there and receive advice from WordPress.ORG bloggers.

Thank you for the direction to the other site. If I knew where to go to get rid of the www I would, but I have no idea where it’s getting that from. I’ll ask on the other site.
