LinkedIn Widget Link Wonky

  I have a LinkedIn widget that works fine when I’m logged in to WordPress (i.e. clicking on the widget opens the page displaying my public LinkedIn profile), but when I log out of WordPress & click on the LinkedIn widget, it opens on different LinkedIn page with no reference to my profile. The other widgets are working fine (Twitter & Tumblr). Is this a WordPress issue or on LinkedIn’s side?

  Hi brandonjoelqueen,

  I clicked the LinkedIn icon in your Social Links widget and I’m being prompted to login in order to view your profile. Is this also what you are seeing?

  If not, please make a screenshot and upload it to your Media Library so I can take a look.

  Thanks for your response!

  It seems that whatever was happening yesterday is not happening today…although it’s still inconsistent. I’m thinking this has to do with some bizarre directing from LinkedIn’s side, as I just did a test & while the screen that was appearing yesterday is no longer appearing, it’s still alternating between my LinkedIn profile with a log-in prompt & a blank LinkedIn page with a log-in prompt. I have put a screen-shot in my media library, but I’m not sure this has anything to do with the WordPress widget.

  Good news :)

  When clicking on the LinkedIn social button I am also taken to a screen asking me to login.
  I’ve also had a quick look through an incognito window.

  – What browser are you using? And does this happen in multiple browsers?
  – Try disconnecting and reestablishing the connection.
  – Do you have any type of privacy setting enabled on your LinkedIn profile?

  I’m using Chrome, & there doesn’t seem to a pattern in terms of connecting/disconnecting. My LinkedIn profile is publicly visible, so that shouldn’t be an issue.

  At any rate, I’m content with how things are for the moment haha Not like LinkedIn is overrun with users anyway haha
