linking 2 existing wordpress sites to an existing domain name and having it all hosted by wordpress

  Hi everyone, I need to streamline the way I use my web presence but am not tecchie at all. Currently my main website is a word press site that has been hosted for me by a private web designer who is giving up. I want to have this site hosted by wordpress now. But, I also own another domain name and have a simple website there currently hosted by Gandhi, who are changing the way they host and I don’t understand how, so I would like to transfer the hosting of this domain name to wordpress and create simple a overview and online shop content there and have my original website linked to it, as well as my other wordpress site – a blog. I want to be able to pay 1 flat yearly fee for hosting. Is there a simple talk through service that I can use to support me?

  Don’t worry about not being techie, we can look at your options :)

  Currently my main website is a word press site that has been hosted for me by a private web designer who is giving up.

  If the current site is using WordPress with another host, that means it was created with WordPress.org software:

  WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org

  We have some information about the process of moving from a WordPress.org site to WordPress.com here:

  Is sounds like this a second site (hosted by Gandhi) — what is the address of this one? And do you mean you want to keep the site hosted there and create a blog on WordPress.com — then cross link the two?

  Yes I have a second site tales-of-our-times.org and I want to keep the domain name with Gandhi but create a word press site with it instead and have it hosted by word press and cross linked to my existing word press site.

  Once it’s built, you can add a plan, then map your domain to our servers:

  I have saved all my pages and subfiles as you suggested.

  I looked at the transfer to wordpress page but I already have a domain name so I am not sure what to do next. I want to keep this.

  Good work! You’ll want to move on to step two by creating a new site to move the content to. You can pick a free name for now, then map your domain when you’ve finished setting everything up.
