linking 2 posts on my one site

  I’m trying to create a link between my latest blog and one I posted some time back. I’ve read Support advice but it isn’t working. Shortlink/Permalink/Blogroll/Widget – I find it confusing and so riddled with jargon that I have to look up, that I end up taking 2 steps back for every step forwards. Can someone give me simple step-by-step instructions please?
