Linking accounts

I just purchased hosting of a domain through Bluehost. How do I get that account to sync with my word press account so I can create the blog. I have already paid for 36 months and do not want to incur any more costs. I’ve tried creating through Bluehost and it just keeps looping me through the same process.

Could you please clarify what have you purchased on Bluehost- a domain or hosting? Or both?
If you have no website hosted on WordPress.com then we are not able to help as we do not see any files on other hosting providers than WordPress.com. But if you have a website on WordPress.com then please clarify how you want your accounts to be synchronized?

I purchased both domain and hosting. I did stumble onto wordpress.org and seem to be on the right track, although a bit in over my head. Thank you for the links to help clarify.

If you started something with Bluehost, we recommend contacting their support team directly to learn what they recommend you do next. I was able to find their support information here: https://www.bluehost.com/contact
Because you are paying them already, I would assume they’d be anxious to help you get started. Hopefully that is what you find.
