Linking blog to Google Plus Page

  Hi,
  I’ve followed the instructions to verify my wordpress site in google webmaster tools and i have confirmation from google that my site is verified. However, when i add my site to my google plus page under links (without the www.) i dont get the tick.
  And when i click on ‘link website’ the page asks me to add a line of code to my wordpress site hompage.
  Is this a second step i need to do in addition to verifying the site in webmaster tools?

  Hey Adrian!

  Could you take a look at these instructions:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/webmaster-tools/#google-warnings

  It’s possible you may have take a couple steps out of order. I’d like you to go through the second part of the instruction list (after the gray SSL instruction box).

  Before you take the steps again, remove the Webmaster Tools Verification Code from this page:
  https://dadwithoutamap.wordpress.com/wp-admin/tools.php

  Delete the code, then click Save.

  Then, re-follow the steps as listed.

  Please let me know how this works for you. If it doesn’t, keep track of which step causes the snag.

  Thanks for your reply. I’m not sure that was the issue as I hadn’t received any warning messages and Google was telling me the site had been verified. When i deleted the site from Webmaster Tools and added it again it came up straight away as being verified so I didn’t even need to go through the verification process again. I added the code to WordPress Tools again though so that i’d followed all the steps.
  The issue seems to be at the point when I try to add the wordpress site to my associated Google Plus Page. Also, when I add the Google Plus Page to Publicize on WordPress it doesn’t give me the option to post publicly.

  Hey Adrian,

  Thanks for going through those disconnection/reconnection steps.

  The issue seems to be at the point when I try to add the wordpress site to my associated Google Plus Page.

  Where are you adding this? Could you send me a link to the page? Thanks. (Of course, if it’s on Google’s side, I can’t help, but if it’s on WordPress.com, I can!)

  Also, when I add the Google Plus Page to Publicize on WordPress it doesn’t give me the option to post publicly.

  It does appear as if you’ve successfully connected the Google + account ” Dad Without A Map” to your blog’s Publicize settings. I testing your Google + connection, and it is live and working well.

  Have you been able to publicize to your Google + page? I see that you added this connection 8 hours ago, so you may not have written a new post in that time.

  Have you added your connection in your post? That would be done in the area seen here:

  If you haven’t yet, could you do that with your next post, and let me know if your post Publicized to Google +?
