Linking categories to pages
-
Hi I am using the Ocean Mist theme ATM, I am wanting to have my categories linked separately (almost like separate blogs) across the top tabs. Is there a way to link categories to a page in a similar way that you can link your blog to a page?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news but blogs are not web sites. Categories are not Pages and Pages are not Posts. A blog has only one dynamic page which will display the most recent published post at the top. The horizontal tabs are for static Pages, which are intended to be sued for posting content that rarely, if ever, changes.
Please read this entry so you comprehend the way a blog functions. http://en.support.wordpress.com/post-vs-page/ -
Ah, so there is no way for anything but pages be placed in the horizontal links a the top of the page? I guess I just misinterpreted this:
“You can even create an entire web site using pages on WordPress.com, with a custom home page and your blog as one of the sub-pages.” ~ WordPress.com features page.
I suppose that answers my question… *sigh* I will just have to get creative and find a work around. Thank you for your quick response Timethief!

There IS, in fact, a way for categories to be linked from a tabbed header. The instructions are here, but it doesn’t work for every theme.
You just put in the link to your Category page.

iNove theme has that function last time checked. You can choose what to appear as navbar (menu) — pages or categories.
