Linking content

I’m new to blogging and I’m not certain the legalities of linking unaffiliated websites and articles to enhance my posts. I”ve used Zemanta photos and article links and used my own downloaded media content. Am I permitted to link websites or articles not found through Zemanta but through google searches?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Yes you may link to any articles in your posts that you feel are authoritative and relevent no matter where they are located on the internet.

Thanks for the quick response. Can I use a image (with a link) from another site or do I need authorization? Besides Zemanta are there any other sources for free images?

If you go to TT’s blog, you will find a post with I believe 76 different sources for free images. Other than that, legally you must be quite careful. While the casual internet practice is to use any image you can find, as long as you link back to the source to give credit, that’s not the way the law works. The law requires you have the legal right to use that image, and so that narrows it down to what we call CC licensed works. You can search Flickr.com for Creative Commons licensed works, and you can use Zemanta to find them as well. If you look closely on Zemanta, you’ll see the licensing for each image is in the details for that image.
