Linking existing blog to installed wordpress
-
Hi All,
I’ve had a wordpress.com blog for 3 months now, but today decided to install wordpress in hope of customising the html code.
1. Was I right to do this? (Is this how you customise the html code?)
If so, then how can I link my existing blog to the wordpress that I’ve installed?
Many Thanks,
IainThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Our WordPress>COM support docs do not relate to local installs of WordPress.ORG software on your own server, and we cannot provide support for it. You are posting to the wrong support forum.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG account, then click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, https://wordpress.org/support/register.php so you can post to the support forums there.

Ahh, thanks very much timethief. I hadn’t realised this.
Is there a way to adjust the html code without installing wordpress then?

No and no. There is no FTP access to wordpress.COM blogs. Uploading custom themes or plugins is not supported on WordPress.com and certain HTML codes and scripts are not supported either. We bloggers cannot access and edit the HTML and PHP files underlying our sites.
