Will you please provide us with some details so we can try to help you?

    1. How are you connecting to the internet and to WordPress.com? The way you connect to the internet (mobile, satellite, DSL, dial-up) and to your blog, and how many proxy server jumps etc. it takes to connect can cause problems. There maybe be problems with your ISP and/or with the proxy servers.

    2. Are you using http:// or https:// see http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/

3.Which browser and version of it are you using?

    4. Have you tried clearing your browser cache and cookies? http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050

    5. Is your browser version up to date? You can upgrade any browser version here.

Thanks for the tips, but there hasnt been much changes on my end.
    1) I was using http:// but went into my private settings now and clicked on https://
    2) I just cleared all browsing and cookies and scanned the computer
    3) I use wireless connection
    4) I use windows 7

what is happening with my video link is, that I go to the URL tab, and it asks if Im using an image url or a video url, as soon as I click on the video, it comes up with 2 empty boxes, one to paste a video url too and the other to add title, but there is no submit button underneath it, any suggestions?

I’m having exactly the same problem. I have been attaching videos from Youtube for ever and now when I try to link from a url there is no button to submit as there is on the images page – looks as though it’s just been missed off. I can add the YouTube link and title – both required field but the rest of the page is blank – needs a button to add/submit I think.

Please post an active link starting with http:// to the blog in question so it can be located and examined.

Thanks, but I think this is exactly the advice you gave to outsiderwindow above and I have already checked all of this and still get the same result. I included a video in posts just over a week ago so this is a new thing. I first noticed the change in the media tab on November 18th prior to that I hadn’t had any problems at all and I have changed nothing in my browser settings etc..
Is it possible that in creating the new video tab the submit button has just been omitted?

    Hi again,
If you have not contacted Staff yet with your details I suggest that you do that. Here’s the link http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/ After you use the searchbox, under the search results, at the bottom of the page there will be a section that says “Have you found the answer to your question?” You can choose either “Yes I found the answer to my question.” or “No I didn’t find the answer to my question and I would like to contact support for help.” The no option will reveal the contact form.

Hi Timetheif, I have contacted them when I hadn’t heard further from your response 3 days ago, Im not getting any replies from support either, I cant continue an online guide with wordpress if Im going to continue having problems like this, will this be fixed? or do I need to seek another server? and One of my contributers presents her work via video, now how am I supposed to add her work now?

Hi outsiderswindow. I am having the same experience. I contacted via the link above and was advised to add the YouTube link directly into the page – I did this but it didn’t work either! Not sure what’s going on and why the insert button just isn’t there any more.

    @rliberni
There is now ONE Media button. I use Firefox 8 and I use the youtube shortcode and have no issues at all. Have you tried posting the youtube video shortcode?

Have you tried using the video shortcode? The beauty of using it is that all one does is type the shortcode into a post or a page using either the Visual or HTML editor and that’s it – no pop-up boxes and nothing else to fill in.

Thanks timethief, I also have ONE Media button but no ‘insert into post’ button for Video, only for images. I tried posting the URL straight onto the page but it doesn’t give me the video embedded – just a link. I haven’t managed to understand the shortcode yet. Will try again. When you use the Media button in Firefox do you see an ‘insert into post’ instruction for Video at the bottom of the page? I’m using IE & I only see the url and title boxes on the page nothing else..

We all have only one media button now. The video shortcode is easy to use. You simply type it inside of square brackets into a post or page using either the Visual editor or HTML editor.

Here is an example. Suppose I want to embed this video Blogs in Plain English http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN2I1pWXjXI

I don’t have to click the media button at all if I do not wish to. I can simply type this
[youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NN2I1pWXjXI] and the video will be embedded into the post.
