Why am I getting an HTTP 403 error when linking Jetpack?
-
I am trying to link Jetpack on http://gw-associates.net/ to http://gwassociates.wordpress.com/ but I get the following error message:
Your website needs to be publicly accessible to use Jetpack: site_inaccessible
Error Details: The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site [HTTP 403]. If you are hosted with Go Daddy, they are aware of this issue, and we at WordPress.com are working with them to fix it. If your site is hosted elsewhere, please contact Jetpack Support: http://jetpack.me/support/
Any advice or suggestions for this issues would be greatly appreciated.
Many thanks,
Rob

Hi Rob,
In order for Jetpack to work, your site needs to be publicly accessible. Can you let me know if your server is behind a firewall or any other sort of protection that may block WordPress from accessing it?
If you’re unsure, your host server should be able to let you know this information.

Hi Rob,
It looks like your host is block the following URL:
http://gw-associates.net/xmlrpc.php
This file needs to be publicly accessible in order for Jetpack to work correctly. Your host should be able to remedy this for you.
Thanks,
Tim
