Linking my domain name i bought from go daddy to wordpress

    which one should i do? keep the domain billing with go daddy or give full access and control to wordpress? anything helps thanks.

    All our plans include the ability to either “map” your domain (leave it at GoDaddy but connect it to your WordPress.com site) or transfer it instead.

    Either option will work, so the decision is usually a personal one. Here is where I think it makes sense to do one vs. the other:

    – Mapping: Great if you manage more than one domain with GoDaddy, and it makes sense to manage your portfolio of domains there in one place
    – Transferring: Makes sense if you have only one domain with GoDaddy and think it will be to difficult to remember to renew your domain there and your plan here. Transferring means all renewals will be under one roof (WordPress.com)

    Otherwise, for your site visitors there is no difference. Either method will ensure that your WordPress.com site uses a custom address instead of the WordPress.com address we assign to free sites.
