linking my posts to facebook

how can I remove the code that appears on my Facebook posts when I share my blog articles with it. For example my blog article on sun drying cherry tomatoes (the easy way) includes the following in it’s title: http://wp.me/p42mc0-6J Can the code part of this (ie the http://wp.me/p42mc0-6J) be omitted or changed for text ? it looks awful and the posts do seem to appear with a text type link as well so this seems pointless. Please could the Happiness Engineers tell me how to do this – many thanks

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

  • Removing the link is possible. When you’re writing a new post, before you publish it, save the draft. Then, in the Publish module, look for where it says Publicize and lists all the accounts you have connected. Click on Edit. This will open a text box where you can edit the description that is shared, including the link.

I quickly tested this with Facebook and it still generates the linked preview on Facebook if you remove the URL from publicize, but it might not work for other accounts you have connected. I didn’t test it with Twitter and Google+.
