Linking one page to a parent page, not home page
-
I want to add a poem to my “A Few Poems” parent. I got the poem written and it is in draft status. I can’t find where to link it. I went to the parent page and added the title to my table of contents, but couldn’t find the poem to link to.
I haven’t published it yet because I’m afraid it will come out on my home page. Should I publish it anyway and then link it to the “A Few Poems” page, and it will automatically drop off my home page?

Hi there!
As long as your poem is in a Page and not a Post it will not appear on your front page with the rest of your posts. It looks like you’ve done it perfectly, added “A Few Poems” as the parent and added the link to your “A Few Poems” page.
If you’d like it to also appear in your dropdown menu, you’ll need to add it through Appearance > Menus. On the left select Pages, check the box next to your new poem and select Add to Menu. Then move the menu item on the right.
Let me know if I can help further!

Thanks. I found my problem. I added it as a post instead of a new page. It’s in and where it belongs now.
