Linking paypal
-
We are a non profit trying to add a PayPal button to our website. I spoke with PayPal and they said sometimes WordPress changes/won’t accept the HTML code when you copy and paste it. Is there a simple solution?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

All support docs are at https://en.support.wordpress.com/
Type PayPal into the search box and click.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/?s=paypal
Results https://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/Know that the PayPal email link is not supported and PayPal customization options are not supported either https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/paypal-button-41?replies=12#post-2517229 This is not likely to be changed any time soon, if at all.

I am an actual human being like everyone else answering questions here. In fact I predate all support staff being on staff except one person and I predate all support docs.
What is your question please?

There is no secure payments system here at wordpress.COM. Provided you are selling only what you yourself make or a providing service that you personally provide on a wordpress.COM site, or you are asking for donations you can use the instructions at https://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/
If you do not succeed post the Paypal step you are stuck on here and then type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Also subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. To subscribe look in the sidebar of this thread, find the subscribe to topics link and click it.

So sorry if I offended you- are you telling me there is no way to link PayPal to our site at this time? I have followed all steps and have gotten the button to appear multiple times, but it doesn’t stay when saved.
-
I’m not offended … lol : I’ve been online since the web was invented.
I will type modlook into the sidebar tags for a Staff followup.

We are not selling anything. Just trying to set up a link to make it easy for volunteers and business partners to donate. PayPal people seemed to think it was a pretty easy fix on WordPress end.
-
Not to worry as Staff will help you after they answer the threads that were tagged for help prior to me tagging this one.

HI there,
On which page on your site are you trying to add the button, and what is the code you’re trying to add? Click the Code button above the text box, paste in the code, and then click that button again.
If you selected any of the customization options for the button it won’t work. We only support the basic Donate button. We don’t support a button using the form or drop-down options. This has not changed in the past few years, and we’ve made no recent changes that would affect this.
Please make sure that you’re following these instructions to get the correct code from PayPal.

I am trying to set up a wordpress.com website. i was hoping to be able to have online bookings for my personal training business and accept instant and direct debit payments. i am happy to use PayPal for the payments. Is it supported on the wordpress.com site? do you know of a booking system that is supported?
-
Please do not post into existing threads with unrelated questions.
WordPress.com has no integrated payments and bookings option, so you will either need to make use of a third-party booking service and link to it from your WordPress.com site, or you will need to set up a self-hosted WordPress installation at a hosting provider like Pressable or Bluehost instead, where you can use an ecommerce plugin like WooCommerce to do this.
You can find more info on self-hosted here:

hi
on the topic of the Paypal facility, I am thinking of adding this to my site to allow the ability to pay monthly fees. Can this be set up so the person submitting payment will have to include names, addresses?? can it go into a bank account or just a paypal account?
thanks
-
Please read what I wrote just above your comment. We don’t have any integrated payment options on WordPress.com. We just support the basic PayPal Buy Now/Donate button. For anything more than that you need a self-hosted WordPress.org installation.
-
thanks kokkieh
does the Paypal Buy Now/Donate button link to a specified bank account or paypal account??
-
It’s PayPal’s button. It links to the PayPal account of the person who creates the button.
