Linking Simple Practice Scheduling Widget
-
Hello, I’m trying to link my Simple Practice scheduling widget to my website. Simple Practice says to contact wordpress support for this, as it’s apparently a bit complicated to set up with wordpress. I wasn’t able to locate a forum topic around this.
Can anyone give insight into how I can connect the scheduling widget? Thanks!

Hi there,
What website are you working on? The account you’re using to post here doesn’t own any sites hosted with us on WordPress.com.
I see that page links to us as “WordPress support”, but that’s an error on their end. Right now you’re posting in the forums for the hosting provider, WordPress.com. We only provide support for sites hosted on our servers.
I suspect you’re instead using the open source WordPress software at another hosting provider. That software is made by the community on WordPress.org, and that community provides support for the software at https://wordpress.org/support/forums/
It looks like whoever wrote that support page at Simple Practice is not aware of this distinction – they also reference WordPress stripping out JavaScript code, but that only happens for sites hosted here on WordPress.com, not with the open source version of WordPress. They also mention switching between the visual and code editors, indicating they haven’t updated that documentation since the block editor came out in WordPress 5.0 in late 2019.
Looking at the example code they have on that support page, it should work fine if you just pasted the code inside a custom HTML block in either the post/page editor, or the widget area. If that doesn’t work, the issue is more likely with their code than with WordPress itself, but in that case please ask the WordPress.org community for advice at the link I gave above.
Hope you manage to get this working!
