Linking through Amazon Associates

  I copied and pasted an Amazon Associates link on my wordpress.com blog, but it did not show when I pressed save. How can I include links to books on Amazon through Amazon Associates? It seems like this should be allowed according to what I read here: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/affiliate-link?replies=89
  My blog is a real blog with real readers and I only intend to include Amazon Associates links to my occasional book reviews. Please help!
